Herbal medicine is a traditional form of medicine that’s been around for thousands of years. Every country and every culture has it’s favourite herbs and ways of using them in food and medicine.
How do Herbs work?
Herbs work with your body to assist in a number of different ways. They may assist healing processes, stimulate or inhibit different organs or systems, reduce inflammation, or support normal functions. The philosophy behind herbal medicine is to assist your body in being able to function normally once again.
Herbal medicine and nutrition are an extension of each other. As Hippocrates said “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.” As a herbalist, I work with nutrition and diet to see what could be added in to balance your diet and support your body’s healing process.
